Emergency Flash Flood warning in the SF North Bay area

The National Weather Service issued an emergency flash flood warning in the Marin and Sonoma counties this morning from 9 am until noon.The warning was blasted on all smart phones and was very efficient in getting the message across.It has been raining in the area for days now but early this morning, residents  were awaken by torrential rains and wind. As of noon, the rain is still coming down steadily. Over 5 inches of rain are expected.

 

These images were captured this morning off of highway 12 in Sebastopol. The water in the images was just a puddle two days ago and is near the Laguna de Santa Rosa area.No emergencies have been reported yet. One traffic light was not working in downtown Sebastopol.Area schools were closed for the day.
